Hollywood Sign, Los Angeles At Deronda Drive dead-end. Less crowd, nice angle shots. It's more than just nine white letters, it's one of the world's most evocative symbols. For many travelers, there is no coveted photo than a shot of the world's famous sign. Though it is visible from all over Los Angeles, it can actually be surprisingly difficult to get a well-angled shot.  The sign is situated on Mt. Lee, in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains and, unfortunately, it is illegal to get really close to it.  The best way, for me, to see the Hollywood sign is to hike to it.  There's an easy hike that takes you close to the sign, where I took my pictures above.
